Hey Friends!
What a great week! The stock market in general finished the week strong and green. The S&P 500 closed up 1.76% on the week, and the DOW30 closed up 1.44% on the week. Woohoo!
Just as a little friendly nudge, we are coming into earnings season, which means that it’s time for all of our favorite companies to show us their report cards. What are we looking for? Typically, we like to see if the companies we are investing and trading in made increasing top-line revenue to satisfy all the Smart Money in Wall Street and if they issue positive guidance, which is their outlook in the future. Premium prices may be a little higher right now, which is due to all these people speculating the direction of where stocks will go on the earnings date. We might see a little volatility in the next couple of days so buckle your seat belts!
Trading Ideas
Right now, we are currently selling covered calls on the following because of their nice juicy premiums and of their neutral to bullish trend:
1. Advanced Micro Devices AMD
2. Microsoft MSFT
Investing Ideas
Remember, when you get your premiums, you can either hold it as cash in your account, take it out to buy some groceries for the week, or you can reinvest it. What stocks are we currently investing in? Here’s a list of stocks we have long-term positions in:
1. Visa V
2. MasterCard MA
3. PayPal PYPL
4. Square SQ
5. Costco COST
6. Apple AAPL
Like what we mentioned in our video this week, we like to invest incrementally. We encourage you to build a position of maybe 1-5 shares, let the share price rise around 5%, and then buy another 1-5 shares. This discipline will prevent you from over-investing. You want to let the companies prove to you that they are great stocks that the Smart Money love. Over time, you’ll see your portfolio value rise and a little sign that says” Financial Freedom” down the road.
Stay disciplined, have an open and positive mindset, and we’ll see you next week!
